The Geneva Motor Show has been revealing surprise after surprise. One such was from Indian automobile major, Tata Motors. For those not in the know, Tata Motors holds credit of launching the world’s cheapest car , the Tata Nano. Now, the company has gone one step further by unveiling their new city car concept named the Tata Pixel. This concept car is based on the same platform as the Nano but then it is slightly bigger than the former and boasts of having one of the smallest turbo diesel engines.
This car comes equipped with a 3 cylinder 1.2 liter turbo diesel which incorporates low friction inducing materials as also start-stop technology. All these would be aided by the low rolling resistance tires, lower aerodynamic drag and last but not the least, intelligent battery charging. It is been touted as one of the cleanest and most fuel efficient cars in Europe. Yes, you read it right. This car would be available only in Europe and not elsewhere as of now. Tata Motors aren’t even launching this car in their home country India as well. The other salient features of this car are that it would have a panoramic roof, scissor doors and a very low turning radius of just 8.5 feet. As of now, Europe is supposed to benefit from this small car and Tata Motors has promised that it would price this car very competitively.
