US Auto sales figures reach highest in five years

Automakers grabbed their best August since the 2007-09 recessions, with the U.S. monthly auto sales rising by 20 percent over the previous year. The customers are now showing more confidence in buying big items on easier credit terms.
Big sales uprights were achieved by the Honda Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Corp which is already trying to recover back from last year’s earthquake and tsunami.
All the three Detroit automakers surpassed the sales figures that analysts have already predicted. Automobile sales in the United States market grew by 14% in November 2011. This was their biggest gain since the month of April. This was mainly achieved due to contributions from the Chrysler Group, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Hyundai-Kia.
On its seasonally adjusted annual figures, the sales had touched a figure of 13.6 million units in November. This was the highest recorded figures post August 2009, the month in which the special incentive launched in the US called “cash-for-clunkers” had created a revival in demand for automobiles. This had followed a drastic situation that saw auto giant General Motors and Chrysler go bankrupt.

Volkswagen launched the People’s Car project with the mass manufacturing concept

Volkswagen has taken a new route as to ask people on their requirements for a car which is an extension of the focus group concept and now the company has launched a new car project based on it and it is called as the People’s car project. The project is to take the opinion about the outlook of the car for the domestic market of China from about 450 million internet users in the same country.
The concept named by Volkswagen is mass manufacturing and is to go on live for the next one year as to collect information through text, videos and images through the interface of the Zaoche website. Let our imaginations fly high as to imagine the Audi is elating TT to have its looks more exciting as the R8 which could be termed as its big brother, all in near future.
