While there are many electric models being released in the market, it is the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan LEAF that have managed to gain spotlight. While Nissan’s car has a zero emission rate being offered in just an electric engine and batteries, GM, which has hade experience in this segment, has also fitted in a traditional gas engine to extend range. At the recent Geneva Motor show Chevrolet announced that it is going to introduce the Volt to the European market. In Germany it will be priced at 41,950 euros or US$ 58,560 and so in other European countries, as and when it arrives there in November 2011. The Opel Ampera, sister of the Volt was also unleashed in its ultimate production form in the Geneva Motor show and is priced at 42,900 euros in Europe but prices may vary from country to country depending on the standard of equipments.
