Rimac Concept_One: A million dollar supercar

What will be your reaction if you come to know that you’re soon going to see a 190mph super car that claims a range of 373 miles with motor’s capability to take the car to 60mph speed in just 2.9seconds? Well! The car is being speculated to be unveiled at the 3-day long (5th-7th September, 2012) UK’s most prestigious Supercar Event and Concours d’Elégance, Salon Privé. The event will be held at London’s Syon Park.

It is the outcome of the creative brain of Croatia’s 24-year old Mate Rimac. He stated that he and his team started with a blank sheet of paper. The idea was to create an exceptional supercar with a new propulsion concept. What we have here is a fully-fledged hypercar that is as powerful as a Bugatti, as stylish as a Ferrari, and as luxurious as a Mercedes, all while managing to forsake even the tiniest sip of gasoline.

The 4078 lbs, 92kWh battery powered 4-set electric motors (placed at each wheels) are capable of churning out an equivalent power of 1,088bhp.Mate Rimac introduced an innovative technology, All-Wheel Torque Vectoring (AWTV). The technology enables all the four systems to operate independently. This means that the wheels can now accelerate and even decelerate hundreds of times a second.

Latest reports suggest that only 88 units of the car will be produced. A price of 1million USD has been tagged with it. With the extraordinary specs and features of the car along with an experienced and improvising team behind its design, the car is actually worth a million dollar. The designing team includes designers who worked for the Ferrari Italian Styling House, Pininfarina and even top Bulgarian leatherworkers from Vilner too.
