One of the world’s renowned car brands has revealed their brand new racing car model 911 RSR. It will be a latest generation which will be 991-based. This newly revealed Porsche car model will compete a various motorsports events including GT3 Cup and prestigious 24 hours of Le Mans in where Porsche last made their entry as a competition in 1998 and did end up victorious.
Porsche 911 RSR race car will compete at Le Mans in June, but the Porsche full scale assault will start early next year where it will be seen competing in LMP1 category.
In the other plans of Porsche, their all new 911 RSR race car will also feature in full 2013 World Endurance Championship with the works squad. The 2013 World Endurance Championship (WEC) season opener will be on April 14 in Silverstone Circuit.
In the list of drivers of Porsche race cars, Richard Lietz, Joerg Bergmeister, Romain Dumas and Patrick Pilet are included. Actor Patrick Dempsey will also make an appearance in Le Man with his racing crew as a driver of 911 RSR.
As of specification of car, no news has been revealed up till now, but is expected to be out soon.
On the development of the new Porsche 911 RSR, the company’s Head of Motorsport Hartmut Kristen, stated, “We are extremely happy with how the examining has gone thus far. Our objective is to be well devised for the tests of the very tough GTE class in the World Endurance Championship and at Le Mans. The route in Sebring is very compatible to position a new vehicle via some demanding tests. For this cause, an examination in Sebring is a really good trial for one of the sturdiest races of all, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Until the term inaugurates in Silverstone, we will conduct some final tests on other race tracks so that our new 911 RSR is well and truthfully ready for the WEC season.”
