Jaguar’s XFR and XF sedans are the new models of this year which made its debut in the Auto Show at New York. It is quoted to be the challenging rival of the BMW 5- Series of the British organization. The model is the first of its kind to sport a diesel turbo engine that is four cylindered, in certain markets which include Europe, along with some changes to the body work on the rear side and on the front of the car.
The exteriors in the brand new XJ model have incorporated the features of the XF model as there is some commonality in the C- XF that is original which actually seen in the frontal parts with the inclusion of the headlamp which are more sleek and that acquires the day time LED running lights which are seated in a unique signature of Jaguar ‘J-Blade’.
The glow factors of the 2012 edition XF include changes at the hood, grille and fenders in the front. The fenders have included the new concept of the side vents that are triangular. The new and larger lamps at the tail that has full LED for stop, lights at the tail and signal turn functions are included in the new Jaguar. Along with the stated changes it sports a restyled and trimmed trunk lid. With the stylish bumpers and wheel in alloys gives the XFR the new makeover.
On the interiors, there is very fine line of change that is brought in with steering wheel of XF. The seats are revised along with an enhanced panel of instruments and the Bowers & Wilkins exclusive sound system of 1200W that is optional is worth mentioning.
The 470HP 5.0-liter V8 engine which is super charged and the 385 horsepower and 5.0-liter V8 that is a naturally aspirated engine in the 2012 XF comes as a line up with the existing engines in North America. Whereas in Jaguar XFR comes with 5.0 liter V8 engine that is supercharged with a horse power of 510.
Jaguar has introduced the 2.2 liter AJ-i4D diesel turbo that is four-cylindered in Europe as well as other markets. The turbo diesel engine is developed by the Ford unit that also served as the founder of the Land Rover Freelander. The horse power put up by the oil burner is 190 and a peak torque of 450Nm which is connected to the new automatic transmission that is of 8-speed.
The XF is quoted to reach 60mph which is 96 km per hour at a time frame of 8.0 seconds and gear up to a maximum speed of 225 km per hour (140 mph), and on return a 43.6 mpg US which is equal 52.3 mpg UK to or in other words 5.4 liters per100 km, which makes the XF Jaguar’s most economical ever in history. Jaguars reports that XF emits CO2 of 149g/km and is complaint to the Stage V of Euro emission norms.
