The official picture of the Mazda 6 has been revealed ahead of its Moscow Motor Show debut. The coupe is all ready to hit production lines.
The Takeri concept which first stole the show at Tokyo Motor show last year remains true with the rivals like Vauxhall Insignia and Ford Mondeo. The same Kodo design or soul of motion design, as it is called, has been transferred to the production variant, making it the most spectacular looking Mazdaspeed. However, it looks like the production version has lost some of the show car’s features like the massive alloy wheels and complex lightning clusters.
Mazda 6 will be the second model in the Mazda series to be developed by using the new Mazda’s SkyActive technology. This new technology made its debut first on the new Mazda CX-5 crossover which was launched earlier this year. The coupe also includes some of the advanced fuel saving technologies like stop-start and company’s new i-Eloop regenerative braking system which runs stereo, lights and even air conditioners when the car is not moving.
The model that will make its way to the Moscow Motor show will feature a direct injection Skyactive-G 2.0 liter engine coupled with six speed Skyactive drive automatic gearbox. The full engine specs and trim line up is expected to reveal next week.
Mazda 6 will hit the market in spring next year, with an estate variant expected to be revealed at Paris Motor Show in September this year. Price of the salon is expected to be around 18,000 pounds.
