Lamborghini gives green signal to the American Super Trofeo series





Lamborghini has already revealed its plans to enter into the international motorsports with its CEO, Stephan Winkelmann giving information about the week’s plan at an FIA sanctioned event where the company is racing its Gallardo.

Winkelmann has not revealed about the GT3 series in which Lamborghini has decided to participate or about the number of cars it is readying for the event. He just revealed that the company is eyeing on an international event.

Lamborghini is not the only premium vehicle maker who it trying its hand in the GT3 races, Bentley is also giving a startup this year with its Continental GT before the full fledge motorsport program from 2014.

Lamborghini will also be competing with its rival brands like Ferrari, Aston Martin and Porsche in the GT3 competition. Year has just started for Lamborghini which has already announced an increase of about 30 percent in its sales figures and is scheduled to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The company is also hoping to increase its Blancpain Super Trofeo one-maker racing series with the new American series. With the four successful seasons in Europe and first Asian season, it has proved that it is the only one make race for all-wheel-drive vehicles.

In 2013 series will enter in US for the first time. The calendar for the American series will be announced later this year. The series will feature participants driving latest 2013 Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo racing car.
