Ferrari 458 Italia, The Environmental Friendly Stallion

Are you surprised to know that even the super car manufacturers are being concerned about the environment? If you are, then we can not help it. Italian giant Ferrari is known to be producers of great powerful engines like V-8 and V-12. And it is known to us that these powerful engines can not be blamed as eco- friendly even by the craziest person. But the scenario has changed as Italian giant Ferrari use this week’s 2011 Geneva Motor Show as a platform to start their new journey by launching Ferrari 458 Italia equipped with eco friendly High Emotion Low Emissions (HELE) technology.

Eco friendly super powerful Ferrari 458 Italia is the lowest carbon emitter of its class. This path breaking HELE Technology has the capability of reducing carbon emission by 15 percent. This super car emits 0.97 lbs of carbon di-oxide per every mile which is an enviable performance for a 563 horsepower car which takes just 3.4 seconds to reach 100km/h from naught.

HELE is a path breaking technology which is based on an engine start- stop system. This unique feature stops the engine of Ferrari 458 whenever it stops and comes back to life whenever the driver steps out from break.
Not only this unique engine start–stop system, but also other unique efficient tweaks like such as the power steering and air-conditioning, adaptive gear-shift pattern and an intelligent engine fan and fuel pump control have helped 458 to reduce its carbon footprint effectively.

Although there is no confirmation from Ferrari whether they are going to launch this model in USA or not, but we can expect that American buyers are soon going to enjoy the unique feature of start –stop model.
