Ford released the news that it is going to unveil its 2013 F-Series Super Duty truck next week on the 9th March in partnership with its existing marketing partner Professional Bull Riders. However, Ford restrained itself from providing any kind of details but released a teaser shot of the truck covered with a semi-transparent sheet. The new photo does reveal somewhat the grand image of the 2013 Ford Super Duty and makes us believe that it will include a massive grille on front, with the fog light mounted just below the large, rectangular headlamps.
At present Ford offers the King Ranch editions of the F-250, F-350 and F-450 pickups. Although no specifications have been given as such we may as well speculate that this new truck will be a plug-in extended range hybrid with four 1.0 liter EcoBoost three-cylinders generating electricity for the 35-kWh battery pack which will in turn power the four in-hub electric motors.
The current 2012 Ford Super Duty comes in two variants, Gas and Diesel, with three different kind of tank capacity to choose from in the trucks. The Gas version has a 6.2 Liter 2-Valve V8 SOHC engine, which has a Sequential Electronic fuel injection with specially tuned induction system. The cam shaft drive is by Silent chain which produces a maximum of 385Hp at 5500 rpm. The Diesel version has 6-7 Liter, Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel OHV (32-valve), which receives fuel through the High-Pressure Common-Rail fuel injection, and has a Single-Sequential Turbocharger, charged air cooler for its induction system. The cam shaft drive is by gear which gives a maximum of 400 HP@ 2800rpm. Other than these, cooling system, engine control system and transmission is 6-Speed SelectShift Automatic with one additional reverse gear, which is same in both of the variants.
The company gives a multiple kind of warranty, which includes Bumper to Bumper: 3 years/ 36,000 miles, Powertrain: 5 years/ 60,000 miles, Safety Restraint System: 5 years/ 60,000 miles, Corrosion (perforation only): 5 years/ Unlimited miles, Roadside Assistance Program: 5 years/60,000 miles on all its current 2012 F-Series Super Duty Models.
If we keep in view the above mentioned specification and warranty of the current F-Series Super Duty Models, the new one must be having something more to offer from its manufacturers, as of right now, the customers of the F-Series Super Duty are very satisfied with the performance of the vehicle in their field of work which is mostly outdoors. They, however, would certainly like to upgrade themselves with the new model which is due to reveal next week.
