Back in 2006 SEMA auto show, General Motors, along with Jay Leno revealed an EcoJet concept that was powered by Turbine. While the 2012 SEMA Auto Show is all over, Jay Leno thought to give us another look of this concept with the latest edition of Jay Leno’s Garage. Just the previous day, he was seen reviewing the 1963 Chrysler Turbine, which houses the similar drive train as compared to the EcoJet concept.
The concept is constructed over the redesigned Corvette Z06 hydroformed aluminum frame which has structural and chassis components made of magnesium and aluminum. The concept is powered by a 650 horsepower Honeywell LT-101 turbine engine. Its outer shell has been constructed by carbon fiber over Kevlar. The vehicle has been painted by using the Glasurit’s 9-Line Waterborne Technology, which is designed to reduce the emission during the whole process.
EcoJet is the living example that if you really want to drive something that is green, then you don’t always need to rely solely on Prius. For more information about the concept, you can watch the review over here.
