Lamborghini , Italian sports carmaker has made plans on adding up an “everyday” model to its existing line up as per reports from the Reuters that was quoted by the CEO of Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann. The CEO has promised that the sport cars that are a sign of luxury from Lamborghini is to be back in levels as it were in 2007 in 2013-2014. The number of sport car units that were 35000 in 2007 while the total sales in 2010 were only 26000.
The demands have increased currently with the flourishing markets such China and Russia and the Lamborghini has planned to use the opportunity to increase its sales by adding a spanking new model to its existing collection. The CEO revealed that it is on the verge of introduction of the third model that can be used on a daily basis. Winkelmann called it as the “everyday car”. The talks of CEO have been fuel to the fire that the production version of 2008 Lamborghini Estoque is likely to be released.
When the CEO was asked on the type of car, no cats were out of the bag, as he stated that decisions are yet to be made on it. He also quoted that once the decision on the type of car is made, and then it would take the company a span of four on the project as the company has planned to develop the design in house along with aids from the Volkswagen group. The CEO insisted that it would use synergies on the possibilities with the Volkswagen group.
With the trends picking up in China and other emerging markets like India, Russia and Brazil to pride sports saloons that has four doors, the chances that the Estoque from Lamborghini to go into production is very high.
The sale of the Lamborghini was on the top in 2008 as it sold 2430 units, but declined in 2010 as only 1302 was sold and it is expected to sell around 1500 units with the arrival of the spanking new super car Aventador LP 700-4 to help its cause.
