The schedule for the weekend in Italy is the all time famous event in Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este where the individual owners with classic cars are out on the roll to showcase their goods for this year’s edition of the show.
The event is also to host the debut of the sports cars. The concept car Aston Martin V12 Zagato makes it world premiere at the same event along with the BMW 328 Hommage concept which is also a sports car.
The BMW 328 Hommage has made to its feet for the celebration of the 75th birthday of its first model. Albeit the automaker from Bavaria has denied to comment on the connection and the possibility that the 328 Hommage has the Vision Connected Drive roadster study which made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011, is implanted in it is very high.
The sports concept car is given an extra special antique look that remind its models of the past with the futuristic feel in mind, the designers from BMW have adopted few elements from the original series as to adapt them accordingly for the new roaster study. The elements that were adopted include the trademark slim, dare and the double kidney grille that is positioned vertically along with the leather strap across the bonnet, the styles at the wheels and the windscreen which is double and has a recess at the middle. The removal of the doors seemed to imitate the style features of the 328.
With the philosophy of the light weight concept in mind as like the original roadster, carbon fibre reinforced plastic plays an important role in the building up of its interiors and the exteriors of the 328 Hommage which is considered to be lighter and also offers more stability.
The interior with two seats has less of the retro touch when compared to its exterior as the designer take the old route out by providing the interiors with an artistic look. The carbon fiber, aluminum and the leather are the materials used on purpose.
The engine sported by the concept model has a capacity of 3.0-liter and is straight-six. Time is to reveal its technical details of the sports car from BMW.
