VW has gathered bag full of surprises for the Detroit Auto Show which is scheduled to start from next week. From seven-seater crossover concept that might hit production line, to new performance addition of Passat concept, a locally made Cross Coupe TDI concept from and last year and several other R-Line options are expected to have their debut.
The two of the upcoming R-Line options are for new 2014 VW Touareg which will be available with either V6 TDI diesel or V6 VR6 petrol model. The small Tiguan has also got sporty R-Line option for 2014 and will also feature VW’s premium audio system developed with Fender.
Just like most of the R-Line packages, the new Tiguan and Touareg features aggressive appearance, interior enhancements, sporty alloy wheels and new badging.
The Touareg, the R-line package has been built on the premium Touareg Lux trim that also adds 20 inches alloys, uniquely designed front bumper, R-Line badges, side skirts, oval shaped dual exhausts and LED tail lights. The interior features aluminum trim on dashboard, doors and on center console. The stainless steel scuff plates, R-Line styled steering wheel and sporty aluminum pedals.
The powertrains are still the same, that means that the car still houses the same TDI’s 3.0 litreturbodiesel V6 engine with 225 horses and 406 pound feet of torque and VR6’s 3.6 litre mill that delivers 280 horses and 265 pound feet of torque.
The prices and availability will be revealed a little later, most probably around the third quarter of 2014 when Volkswagen Touareg is scheduled to get on sale.
