General Motors’ luxury brand, Buick, recently announced the base price of its 2013 Buick Verano Turbo. The company quoted an introductory price tag of $29,990 for its dealerships.
Under the hood, the Verano Turbo is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder heart. As per Buick’s press release, the engine is capable of churning out a peak power of 250hp.The engine is to be coupled with either a six-speed automatic transmission or a no-charge six-speed manual gearbox.
Buick’s belief is that the Verano Turbo will offer more power along with better fuel efficiency than its competitors in the market. The VeranoTurbo has comparable mileage to similarly-equipped cars like the 2012 Acura TSX and even Volvo C30. As per the estimation made by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the manual transmission Buick-car offers a mileage of 20mpg in city rides, while the fuel efficiency on highways is actually 31mpg. The mileage figures for the automatic transmission Verano turbo is yet to be announced.
Commenting on VeranoTurbo’s fuel efficiency, Kicking Tires stated that the car’s fuel economy is only 1 mpg sacrifice in city, highway and combined ratings compared to the non-turbo Verano for an additional 70 hp and claimed performance of zero to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds.
Car enthusiasts and drivers too aren’t behind in terms of drawing VeranoTurbo’s comparison with different cars. The 2013 Acura ILX 2.4 is the one that has come in minds of them. Both the cars are priced somewhere within $105 of each other. Moreover, the ILX 2.4 delivers a power of 201hp, along with a city/highway mileage of 22/31mpg.
Exteriorly, a rear spoiler, sport pedals and dual exhaust distinguish the Verano Turbo with other Verano trims. Apart from this, interiorly the car has a nine-speaker Bose stereo, Buick’s IntelliLink infotainment system, leather seats, a heated steering wheel and heated front seats. Moreover, it also has a standard backup camera and rear parking sensors, blind-zone alert and rear cross-traffic alert.
Buick seems to have a few more things in the box. As per the automaker, backup camera will come in part and parcel with all 2013 Verano models. General Motors’ luxury car brand, Buick is yet to announce the price tags for the entire 2013 Verano lineup. With the announcement of the 29,990 USD introductory price tag of the 2013 Verano Turbo, the carmaker has certainly dropped hints about the approximate price range of its upcoming 2013 Verano models.
