2012 Lancia Ypsilon unveils its picture gallery along with technical specifications





The brand new Lancia Ypsilon that made its world premiere a little less than three months ago at the Geneva Motor Show 2011 has finally released the entire gallery of pictures which is typical of the Fiat Group. The number of photographs was more than 70 and it revealed the supermini from Italy on the city roads which is quoted to be its natural habitat. Besides the gallery, the company has revealed the full details along with its specification of the entry level model that is to be available from June on some of the major European markets and at fall it will be available at the United Kingdom and Ireland where the logo of Chrysler is to be put up on the Lancia.

The choice of engines with the Lancia which is 3.84 meter long is four in number. During the initial stages, around the launch period the customer options are narrowed down to three which are the petrol engine with the capacity of 1.2-liter to produce a horse power of  69, the Twin Air unit which has a capacity of 0.9-liter and has a horse power of 85 and the turbo diesel engine with capacity of 1.3 liter named as the Multijet II producing a horse power of 95. The bi-fuel version which has the capacity of 1.2-liter that can run on both petrol and LPG is to make its debut with Lancia later in the year.


The interior trim levels that come with the Lancia for customization is three in number which is the Silver, Gold and Platinum along with upholstery trims that are of six different models. The alloy wheels are of three different models and it is possible to make 600 different combination with the choices offered to its customer.

The standards of the Silver Trim level is to include the central locking that is remote controlled, front windows that are electric, reach and height adjustable steering wheels, driver seat that is height-adjustable, rear seat that is split as two, fabric upholstery, set-up of the radio, wheels made of steel that is of 15-inches and the window that is rear heated.

The Gold version has some additional features along with those of the Silver trim level such as the climate control system that is to be operated manually, CD and MP3 player along with the radio, door mirrors that are electric, the gear shift lever and the steering wheel covered with leather, upholstery which is Castiglio along with a comfort pack.

The platinum level that is a step ahead of the Gold level is to sport electric window at the rear, fog lights, head restraints for the rear seats, wheels in alloy that are 15 inches in diameter and upholstery made of leather. All the trim levels come with the safety equipments that include the ABS with ESP with ASR, EBD, front and side airbags, Isofix attachments and the Hill Holder.

The add-ons for people with fat pockets has the navigation system, Smart Fuel system which is said to eliminate the classic fuel tank cap, Magic Parking assist technology, Blue&Me-TomTom LIVE” infotainment, LED taillights, 16-inch wheels and the Bi-Xenon headlights. The warranty offered for the Lancia Ypsilon is 8 years.
