BMW has been quietly developing the next generation 6 series but then recently the new BMW 6 series Coupe Concept was spied testing in North America. In early 2012, there would be a M6 Convertible as also the M6 Coupe version. The changes in these models are minor but then noteworthy. The new 6 series gets a sleeker profile, quad tail pipes and reworked front and rear end as also the aerodynamic capabilities.
In the engine department, there is a replacement expected due to the stricter emission norms tightening their noose around various automobile manufacturers. The new BMW M6 would feature the 4.4 liter twin turbo charged V8 engine which is currently doing duties in the BMW X5 M as also the BMW X6 M. It is expected to deliver 555 Hp of peak power and a good 500 pound feet of torque. There would be a 6 speed auto transmission as also the new BMW dual clutch M-DCT system on offer. With the dual clutch transmission, expect 0-60 mph timings of 4.4 seconds. This cars would be displayed at the Paris Motor Show later on this month.
